The Location

Leathan Green is situated a stone’s throw from Portlethen, a coastal village lying along the North Sea Coast. A small island, May Craig, is situated offshore from Portlethen.

The peaceful neighbourhood really enjoys the best of both worlds surrounded by rolling hills on one side and the sea on the other, whilst enjoying a range of fantastic amenities and schooling.

Living Life

The community of Portlethen boasts a host of amenities as well as being in close proximity to the city of Aberdeen.

There are four main shopping areas nearby, Portlethen Retail Park which includes an Asda Superstore, Argos, Vets, Subway and Matalan; The Green, Muirend Retail Court and Rowanbank Court. There are two main parks in Portlethen; Bourtree Park and Nicol Park. They include a toddler area, skate park, basketball courts, football pitch and play parks.

You’re close to beautiful walks, an abundance of golf courses and for the more adventurous there’s the North East Coastal Walk which is four miles in total and finishes at the spectacular Dunnottar Castle. For entertainment and leisure nearby, Portlethen offers a swimming pool, two all-weather tennis courts, cafes and a library.

Education

Your children will be able to attend local schools. Portlethen has its own nursery, primary and secondary school.

Leathen Green is just 7 miles from Aberdeen City and close to the A90, ideal for traveling both North and South of the City.

There is also a railway station situated in Portlethen Village which makes commuting between Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow really convenient.

Nearby Aberdeen, known as the Granite City, is a vibrant and dynamic centre which boasts shopping, restaurants, clubs and pubs, leisure and activities.

• Outdoor activities are plentiful. You can be at the foot of Bennachie for a day of hill walking, casting your line on the River Dee or taking the ski-tow to the top of Glenshee, all within 15-45 minutes.
• The well-loved Aberdeen beach is only an 15 minute drive from the neighbourhood. It’s an area with plentiful sporting and recreational facilities, including the Beach Leisure Complex and the Linx Ice Arena, cafes, restaurants, multiplex cinema and Codona’s fun fair.
• For culture-vultures, visit the Maritime Museum to discover Aberdeen’s long love affair with the sea and learn more about the city’s history at the Tolbooth Museum. His Majesty’s theatre hosts West End and Broadway musicals as well as opera and ballet performances. Aberdeen Art Gallery is also undergoing a major transformation.
