Best of Both Worlds at Dargavel Village

For Barry and Nicola Watson, it was a case of best of both worlds when they first visited the new development from Stewart Milne Homes at Dargavel Village in Bishopton.

The highly sought-after development was set amidst beautiful countryside, within a short commute to their work and had the all-important speedy transportation links into Glasgow.

Barry explained: “We had been living in our flat in the southside of Glasgow and we decided we wanted a house with a garden, so we sold up, moved into rented accommodation to give us time to find the perfect place.”

Barry’s wife, Nicola, had read about Dargavel Village and although he wasn’t initially keen on a new build property, Nicola persuaded him to go and have a look.

He said: “As soon as we visited Dargavel Village we knew this was the place for us. The area has a rural outlook but within a few short minutes on the train you can be in the hustle and bustle of the city centre. We visited all the different housebuilders and had an instant affinity with Stewart Milne Homes. It was clear to see they stood apart from other builders with their innovative design, superior build quality and creative development layout.”

“The streets had a more traditional feel with the mix of homes, exterior finish and architecture of the properties persuading us to buy with Stewart Milne.

“We also learned that Stewart Milne Homes included many features as standard such as built in wardrobes, down lights, monoblocking the driveway, perimeter fencing and turfing the front and rear garden.”

The next decision for the Watsons was which style of home to pick and they opted for the four bedroom Dukeswood.

Barry added: “There were a number of different styles that appealed to us, but we loved the open plan kitchen/dining area with breakfast bar in the Dukeswood which stretches across the width of the home with French doors opening onto the garden.

“The location sealed the deal for us, our house was at the end of the row and gets flooded with natural light. It has an outlook onto one of the many ponds in the development which is full of ducks and swans.”

Barry and Nicola are now happily settled into their new home and are enjoying the abundance of outdoor space. “Our treelined view is set to have over 16km of country trails that are to be completed as the development progresses so there will be even more scenic paths to explore and enjoy.

“The train station is a short walk away and a range of amenities on our doorstep so we have everything we need within easy reach.”

Prices at Dargavel Village currently start from £145,000 and the showhomes are open Monday to Sunday from 10.30am to 5pm. For further information visit www.stewartmilnehomes.com or call 0845 900 2906.
