Energy Efficient Stewart Milne Homes

A new research conducted by The Home Builders Federation (HBF) has found that on average you can save £3,117* per year in energy bills when you move into a new home verses existing houses.

At Stewart Milne Homes, we’re committed to a greener and more environmentally friendly way of doing things. On average, buyers of new homes save over £2,000 on household bills per property each year, equivalent to £174 a month. For buyers of houses, as opposed to flats the savings are even greater at £216 per month, an annual saving of £2,600.

With energy prices set to rise again the Spring 2023, the savings that new builds can offer consumers will increase even further, rising to an average of £2,510.73 a year, and £3,117.85 for houses*.

1 in 4 buyers now put efficiency as a key consideration when purchasing a house to make environmental and economic choices.

Our research and development team work to understand market, business efficiency and regulatory needs – both today and tomorrow – and then create homes and communities that meet them.

On top of these dramatic savings, new homes owners are also contributing to the country’s progression towards net zero, with each new build producing just a third of the carbon emitted by older homes, a saving of 2.2 tonnes of CO2 every year by using on average 100 kWh of energy per m2 of house space compared to 259 kWh per m2 for an older property.
