Taking a step-up on the property ladder with Stewart Milne Homes

The prospect of moving out of your first purchased property can be a daunting journey for some but when a five-bed luxury home from Stewart Milne Homes is the end destination, it’s a jump worth making.

That’s the view of PR Manager, Amy Groden, and Senior Audit Manager, Gavin Murray, who sold their one-bed flat in Glasgow’s southside to move into a spacious five-bed Leven at the Gillburn Grange development in Jackton, near East Kilbride.

The 29-year-olds were enticed by the spacious layout, high-specification, close proximity to Glasgow’s southside and – most importantly – the ability to walk into a ready-made home.

“It’s maybe unusual to go from a one-bed flat to a five-bedroom home but there’s a lot of space for growth and this means we don’t need to think about moving any time in the near future,” said Amy.

Taking a step-up on the property ladder“Obviously this was a big step-up, but we just fell in love with the development as soon as we arrived for our appointment. We have no kids at the moment but we are planning to have a family in the future and that was a huge reason for choosing the Leven.

“Even now as we work between the office and home, our needs are totally catered for with the space for individual workspaces and areas where we can relax at the end of the day. It’s really the perfect place for us to live and grow as a family.”

The Leven is an elegant five-bedroom detached family home with a large, front-facing living room off the entrance hall and a bright and welcoming open plan kitchen/dining room to the rear. The ground floor layout is perfect for entertaining family and friends with its expansive rooms while four out of the five bedrooms upstairs are double-sized.

Its true selling point, however, is the master bedroom. With a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room complete with a large 1200mm rain shower, chrome heated towel rail and fitted vanity furniture, it offers owners a spacious, relaxing sanctuary.

Taking a step-up on the property ladder“We were originally looking at a smaller house but when we viewed the larger homes, it just made perfect sense given the unrivalled flexibility and open-plan living they offered,” she explained.

“The master bedroom is just amazing. It feels so luxurious to have a space like that in comparison to what we had before. The whole house offers us so much flexibility in general and we’ve really enjoyed having family and friends over as we settle into our new home.”

With her southside flat her only previous property purchase, Amy didn’t know what to expect when entering the new-build market.

The Leven’s price tag also represented a significant financial investment for Amy and Gavin, but they said Stewart Milne Homes sales consultant at Gillburn Grange, May Mancini, helped to make the process stress-free.

Amy said: “I loved the experience with Stewart Milne Homes. May took the time to understand our specific needs and take us through the process. We were able to choose our kitchen cabinets and bathroom tile colours so the house was finished to our specific taste. The team on-site also showed us everything about the home once we moved in, taking time to explain its features and that was very reassuring. “The beauty is that we have so much space now and can really make this our own before changing things up as we grow and adapt the house to our needs.”

With the added bonus of being close to Glasgow’s Southside, Amy and Gavin feel like they’ve found the perfect balance of a semi-rural setting with city living on  their doorstep. “Gillburn Grange is just perfect in terms of location,” Amy added.

“There is a lot of greenery and beautiful landscaping with a countryside feel to the development. It’s also right next to Eaglesham, so we have plenty of areas on our doorstep to explore.

“We’d definitely recommend the location and Stewart Milne Homes to people who are looking. In fact, we’ve already done that with our friends and family as the area offers the best of country living within a stone’s throw to the city and the houses are beautiful.”

Inspired by its unique setting in South Lanarkshire, Gillburn Grange has been designed to respect the existing natural environment and mature trees to the south while maximising its panoramic views to the north.
