Part exchange from Stewart Milne Homes helped to make buying their dream home a reality for Aberdeen couple – Matt Legge and Rachael Cairns.

The couple – who are set to marry later this year – are now happily settled into a four bedroom Denewood at Regency Place in Aberdeen’s newest community of Countesswells.

Matt, 27, explained that they had planned to move home after their wedding but decided to have a ‘quick look’ at some possible locations just to get an idea of what was available.

He said: “We knew about Countesswell and went to see all the different showhomes. From that very first visit we knew we wanted to move to Stewart Milne Homes’ Regency Place.

“The sales team were really helpful and once they advised that part exchange was available we knew that buying our dream home could actually become a reality.

“We had a two bedroom home in Westhill and had seen friends struggling to sell their homes in the current economic climate but part exchange took the pressure off and meant we could look forward to our new home instead of worrying about what could go wrong.

“Stewart Milne Homes made the whole process easy, our flooring and carpets were included and were laid before we moved in and they were extremely accommodating and made the move as easy as possible for us. You always hear about moving being stressful but Stewart Milne really helped simplify the process.”

Stewart Milne Homes has a range of homes at Countesswells from two through to five bedrooms and the couple selected the luxurious four bedroom Denewood. The highly sought-after home is characterised by its high level of specification and both the master and guest bedroom include an en-suite and built-in wardrobes.

Matt said: “We are so glad that we picked the Denewood as it is well laid out and there is so much space. As it is a new build it is a blank canvas, everything is new and fresh and there are no surprises or dodgy DIY that you can get in an older property.”

Matt and Rachael’s favourite room is the spacious kitchen/dining area which features a breakfast bar and also has plenty of room for a dining table.

The couple were delighted to be able to host Christmas dinner for the first time and comfortably entertained 12 family and friends to a traditional festive feast.

They are already looking forward to summer so they can make the most of the south facing back garden.

Matt explained: “The kitchen has French doors which lead to the garden and it is perfect for entertaining so we are planning BBQs for the summer months.

“This really is our perfect home and it is great to have been part of Countesswells from the start. There is already a strong community spirit and we were lucky that we were able to get to know all our neighbours at a street get together in the run-up to Christmas.

“In buying this home we are planning for the long-term as there is so much potential as Countesswells grows and we will have everything we need right on our doorstep from beautiful countryside through to shops and schools.”

Prices at Regency Place, Countesswells start from £320,995 for a three bedroom Castlewellan.
