This summer saw the launch of our new Village range of homes and we invited Stewart Milne Homeowner and influencer Kirsty Rae to explore one of our new homes at our Dunnator Park development in Stonehaven.
Kirsty who is the face behind the @our.home.at.29 Instagram account took a look around or stylish five-bedroom Nairn family home, and here’s what she had to say…

“The Nairn show home at Dunnottar Park in vis tucked away in a quiet corner of the development, allowing visitors a chance to get a feel for living in the area as they approach.
“Living in a Hollandswood, we are used to being in one of the bigger houses in our development in Alford, but the Nairn takes it to another level – it really is a big house!
“The sales office occupies what would be the integrated double garage. It comes with light and power and could be used as a garage, for storage or even converted in future to give even more space.
“The living room is cosy, but still brings in the natural light with a large window looking out to the generous front garden but the showstopper in this home is the kitchen.
“The kitchen/diner/snug is vast, with a centrepiece kitchen island as well as space for a large dining table and a corner sofa and coffee table at the end – it really does feel like the heart of the home. In fact, I could see the snug being the main lounge area of the Nairn, with the living room being reserved for when guests come over, or even as a place to let kids occupy.
“Another thing you notice immediately about the kitchen is how bright it is – thanks to two sets of windows and French doors to the garden, the room is absolutely flooded with light, even on a dull day as it was when I visited.
“Leading off from the snug area is the utility room, which is also a great size complete with sink, large storage space and the back door to the garden at one end and garage access at the other – there would even be space to create a boot room to keep muddy shoes well out of the rest of the house.
“However, upstairs is where the Nairn really shines. All five bedrooms are a good size – with the show home utilising the smallest one as a study. The master bedroom though is stunning! Walking in you pass a decent-sized dressing area with the door to the en suite complete with bath and shower. Also included is a walk-in wardrobe which I think even I might struggle to fill!
“The second bedroom is a perfectly sized guest room with its own en suite, while the remaining rooms are both well-sized too. The family bathroom feels cosier than the master bedroom en suite because of its layout, but it is still a good size to relax in.
“The landing area is generous and, as well as the cupboard housing the hot water tank, there is also a handy storage closet, perfect for towels and bedding.
“Heading back downstairs you are back in the spacious hallway which has plenty of space for a console table and accommodates the downstairs toilet.
“Because this was a show home, it was difficult to tell how the front of the property would be landscaped within a development, however at the back there was a big garden – complete with rabbits when I visited – and more than enough space for a shed, patio, or even hot tub. I even spotted solar panels on the roof.
“It is clear the Nairn marks a new direction for the architecture of Stewart Milne Homes. It feels like the designers listened to what current homeowners like and don’t like about their properties and came up with new designs to meet the needs of modern families.
“It has plenty of storage, spacious rooms and feels like it could easily adapt to family life of the years. It truly is a stunning family home.”
