“I ENJOY LIVING HERE BECAUSE MY CHILDREN HAVE FREEDOM; I DON’T WORRY ABOUT THEIR SAFETY…
It’s really child-friendly in Silver Birches…
I can watch my children from my window, happily playing here in the facilities on the development; they are happy to play here so I don’t have to take them anywhere else. The paths are also easily accessible by wheelchair so my teenage son can get around the development as well, which is great. My sister bought the house right next to me and my niece is 3 months older than my son so they can go to school together here. There are plenty of foot paths to walk on, all away from the road. There’s one that goes from my house to where the school will be so the kids won’t be anywhere near traffic.
Having moved from the country, it’s different for me living here with neighbours and houses…
I love my home, I like the development and I like my neighbours; the development is great. The houses are quite attractive and stylish and I like the way the area has been landscaped with play areas for the children. The path near my house has a stream with plants and trees; so it’s really pretty when I walk through it.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes…
…because I enjoy my house.

There is a real positive and community feel to living at Silver Birches…
Stewart Milne don’t just build homes; they build a community
There is a really positive feel in the neighbourhood as a new community is being developed. Extra effort is being put in to the layout and children’s equipment by Stewart Milne so you’re able to meet your neighbours very easily. All of the kids play in front of the houses as well so it’s friendly, safe and secure for them.
The development is a really safe and child friendly place to live
We have no road in front of our house and it leads straight onto a large grass area with a park, which is great for our children to play in. There are also several pavements on the development, lots of pedestrian areas and bridges going over the partially drained stream, making it safe for children.
Living in the countryside means we’re not overlooked by anyone
It’s never over-crowded and we can always get out into open spaces really quickly. The walkways that go around the development and into the grass areas are perfect for walks on a sunny day. We have the stream where we can all sit together and enjoy the open feel living in the countryside.
I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes…
...because it’s a lovely development, it was so easy and there were no glitches.

Stewart Milne Homes understand family living…
…the kitchen/diner is perfect for family meal times, it means we can all sit together and also I don’t have to worry about moving things from one room to another. Also, we have the really nice, big fenced off garden which is very secure for the children to play in.
We had a lot of input into the design of our home
We were able to choose from many different options so our house is very much to our tastes and means we didn’t have to worry too much about changes to the design or décor when we moved in. The bedrooms are good sizes and the master bedroom has a walk in wardrobe which we think is excellent.
I would certainly recommend Stewart Milne
We enjoy the community, the closeness, the neighbours, everything; it’s a nice environment for our children to grow up in. We are settling in nicely.

If you’d asked me a few months ago, I’d have said that a new-build wouldn’t have been my first choice when moving home...
But it’s been great, lovely; everything’s new and clean, bright and airy. In fact, I’d buy another house from Stewart Milne because of the support I’ve had.
The staff are so easy to deal with
You hear some horror stories about buying a new build. I know from hearsay that it can be a case of, ‘Here’s your keys; cheers! See you later’ and then you’re chasing the site office for a fortnight. Not with Stewart Milne, though; there’s a designated person in customer care and the site office are easy to deal with. I’ve had people checking just to make sure that we were happy. The support I’ve had has been great. Sure, a couple of minor things have gone wrong, but they’ve been attended to within 24 hours. Everything’s been good.
Silver Birches… the perfect situation
We were relocating from 250 miles away and obviously needed somewhere that was more commutable to work. Silver Birches is on the edge of a lovely village. It’s out in the country and just really nice. For us, it was the perfect situation. We’ve picked a nice place; it feels like somewhere we can stay. We were just saying the other day how much we like living here.
Part exchange made our move viable
Stewart Milne’s part exchange made the move financially viable. We were having difficulty selling our old house and wouldn’t have been able to move otherwise. As it is, the move has proved to be cost effective. You get a good quality house for the money. The actual sale itself was dead easy, too.
I would certainly recommend Stewart Milne Homes
I would certainly recommend Stewart Milne Homes because of the quality of the houses; they’re good value for money. We also feel we’re living somewhere where we can put down roots. That’s why I would recommend.

As first-time buyers, we were obviously concerned about the financial side of things. Would we be able to afford it?...
So Stewart Milne’s first-time buyers’ package was really helpful. It wasn’t just about the price of the house; it was that they help you out with getting the flooring and other stuff done.
Fixtures and fittings all in place
With a new house there’s so much you need to do before it’s liveable. Stewart Milne did all our flooring and curtains. They even ensured the turfing was done. It was so great having this convenience from the day we moved in. Our curtains were already up and we were basically ready to go. We had that sense of comfort and homeliness right from the off. Aside from the obvious stresses of moving day, it’s just been so easy; all in all, a stress-free move really.
A proper country feel
This was a big move for us from the city centre, but we wanted to move to a more rural place and knew Alford anyway. We liked the village and the development was really nice as well. Being on the outskirts, it’s looking right on to fields. It’s got a proper country feel to things. We love it! We’re really happy and the house is ideal for us. In fact, even if we had the option to buy bigger, we wouldn’t have done.
The staff really make an effort
Everyone’s been really nice, really friendly. Staff answer questions and make the effort to find out everything they can, and it’s not just the sales team, but on the customer service and building side of things as well. The guys have been really good. Derek is really friendly and will help out as much as he can. For instance, he gave us paint for touch-ups when we moved in. You can easily buy paint in the shop, but it’s not necessarily the same brand or batch. It’s those little things that make the difference.
I would absolutely recommend Stewart Milne, especially to first-time buyers
I would absolutely recommend Stewart Milne Homes because, given our age, a lot of our friends are in the market for first-time buyer properties. It can be really difficult to buy a house, but Stewart Milne’s first-time buyers’ package made it so easy. That’s why I would recommend.
