Charleston is an attractive place to live and the development is very clean and tidy. Before I moved here I was a little worried about the traffic and how that would be, so I visited a few times; I was pleased to see that there wasn’t a lot of traffic at all and the area was much quieter than I’d imagined. Stewart Milne Homes have added a couple of green courtyards and as Charleston is attached to Cove there are plenty of green areas to walk around. I can actually see the sea from where I live and there are a lot of cliff walks nearby. The old harbour is just a ten-minute walk away and that’s quite a draw for tourists.

I’d definitely recommend Stewart Milne Homes...
...because it was a very easy experience and I didn’t really have any hiccups. It was exciting seeing my house being built and the experience of choosing my options and colours was good too.

We’d heard of Stewart Milne Homes before but we’d put a deposit down on a house with another developer. Their customer care was absolutely shocking and that was it; there was no way we were buying from them. Within seven weeks of deciding to move, we’d moved into our new home here. It was just so easy from start to finish. There was no selling cost and there was only one viewing before my old house was sold.

We could pick our kitchen, en-suite and carpets. For the kitchen, we chose silver with little bits of glitter in the doors and a darker marble top, and our laminated flooring is slightly lighter than the worktop. It all looks beautiful and having SMEG appliances as well is great. It’s new and spacious with four bedrooms and two bathrooms and we were really happy we could personalise it just for us.

With different designs of houses and a lot of well-maintained landscaped areas, it’s very attractive here. Some houses have been built partly with wooden cladding and others have a traditional brick design, but the grey colour detail makes everything come together. We’re far enough away from town, but still close enough to easily get there. It’s going to be quite a big estate, so along with the nice shops already beside us we’re looking forward to them developing even more amenities.

I wanted to be close to the city centre, but not close to the hustle and bustle. There are lovely, grassy areas and trees around me, and the main high street is just beside my house. There are quite a lot of modern shops together with a little Sainsbury’s, a hairdressers and a home shop. Everything is right on the doorstep and there’s a great community feel.

They communicated well and supported me through the whole process. They answered any questions I had quickly, and as this was my first home, when it came to making selections they guided me. If I wanted to change some things or move them around, they were right on it and were always happy to help.

We were looking to downsize and I wanted a smaller garden so the upkeep would be kept to a minimum. I chose a new build home in Charleston because I would be the first one through that door and I’d have my choice of colour schemes, carpets and other flooring. I got a brand new kitchen to my own specification and en suites. Absolutely everything is shiny and new and it’s all built to a very good standard.

The lay out of it is lovely to look at because every set of houses are different, the gardens are well set out and they all seem to blend in well. There’s also a good degree of privacy when you’re in your own home because every garden has a double aspect fence.

We used to live in Cove and we always loved it. In Charleston we can walk to the sea in ten or fifteen minutes and there are other beautiful walks in Cove. The areas surrounding the houses are very green and lush and I take my two grandchildren down to Cove harbour where they can look for crabs and fish in the rock pools. There are also plenty of play areas for the children. It’s a beautiful little village and only a short distance to the centre of town or the main local superstore.

The reason the process was made so easy was because Dianne at the local site office was so helpful. We spoke with her about booking our part exchange and it was all done and dusted in a fortnight. She kept us informed and updated by email or telephone and the whole procedure went very smoothly. The house definitely meets the expectations we had before we moved in and we are very happy.

Everything was so easy, from start to finish…
…the sales girl, Laura, really made things easy for me. She was there to advise me every step of the way. When I wanted to add or upgrade items in the home Laura made it so easy for me to do so, this made it a great experience.

It is nice to move into a new home where everything is finished to a great standard. The build quality is great and I enjoyed adding extras into the home to make it more me. The design is really well thought through and has made it ready to live in.

…I bought off plan and I dreamed of what the finished home would look like. My dreams were realised, I love my new home, everything about it. The quality of finish is fantastic, the fixtures and fittings are modern. The whole home looks so sharp and blends in to the home style I wanted.

I want to say thank you to the customer service team, they have been so helpful and everyone I have had contact with has been so well presented. The guys on site are every knowledgeable they know their products and business inside out. The service I have received from all the teams has been sharp and accurate throughout.

We were first-time buyers so were obviously new to the whole experience...
And the staff at Stewart Milne couldn’t have made it easier for us. They were all very friendly and offered a helping hand.

Experienced staff that make the difference
The sales lady in particular was very helpful. If you asked for anything to be done, she always made sure it was done the way you wanted it. She tried her best to comply with your ideas and also suggested things like tiles and carpets.

Design for living
When I first saw the show house, I fell in love with its design. It’s spacious, especially the living room, and the view from the upstairs bedroom window is just very nice. Everything’s done to a very high finish, even down to the brickwork.
